Families for Children –‘Providing the right support at the right time’
From Monday 3rd August we are replacing our Duty Service with an Advice and Support Service within our Family Support Team
Access to Advice and Support
Families will experience challenges and have questions at different times in their lives and Families for Children encourage adoptive families – parents, young adults and children – to come back to us to seek advice and help when they need it. We provide support through our Family Support and Advice service which is delivered by experienced Family Support Workers who are supported by Senior Practitioners (experienced Social Workers) and a Manager.
The service is available to our adopters and offers information, advice and guidance; signposting to other services; virtual contact where a direct conversation is required; help in accessing community support; and peer support through our Peer Link mentoring scheme. Referrals can also be taken for families that require short term intervention to support children and placements, help in accessing services through the Adoption Support Fund or support in accessing other services provided through Health, Schools or Local Authorities.
The Advice and Support line is available through the week:
Monday 09.30 – 13.00
Tuesday 13.00 – 17.00
Wednesday 09.30 – 13.00
Thursday 09.30 – 13.00
On Wednesday 21st September and 29th September we will be offering the service from 14.30 – 16.30 and on 23rd September and 30th September we will be offering the service from 14.30 until 18.30.
Will review the response of offering a service late afternoon/early evening so do let us have your views and comments!
From 1st November Families for Children will return to operating five days a week so we update the days and times the Advice and Support Service is available.
